Drill settings:
You can adjust the settings of a drill in different ways. Per column or for the complete drill.
The settings per column affect the questions/answers in the column.
If you enable this option, the participant can have the content of the drill converted into speech in the player for drill and story content. This functionality complements the current server-side text-to-speech functionality already being offered.
After enabling this option, you can select the language you want.
The learner will get the option to click on the "ear" button, as shown in the image below.
When doing that, they will get a sound clip of that question/answer. They can even choose whether it needs to be a female or male voice and which accent they would like. In addition, the participant can also adjust the speed of pronunciation.
Attention! You can only get this feature if you have the proper permission. Don't have this permission? Please contact support@drillster.com.

Preferences
If you set the drill to 4 answer options, and the question contains only 2 alternatives, Drillster randomly extracts an answer option from another question.
In this case the drill can be practiced productively and receptively. The user reproduces what has been learned (productively) and recognizes (receptively). Drillster shows elements from both the 'unknown column' and the 'known column'. The user then selects the correct answer from the answer column (multiple choice) or fills in the correct answer (open question).
Receptive practicing onlyRecognize what you have learned. Drillster shows information from the 'unknown column' after which the user chooses the correct answer or fills in the 'known column'.
Productive practicing onlyReproduce what you've learned. Drillster shows information from the 'known column' after which the user chooses the correct answer or fills in the 'unknown column'.
User chooses
If the user un-checkes the box, then after the answer is given the user will first have to click on 'answer' to save it and then click on 'next' to display the next question.
If the user leaves the check mark on, then it will be possible to click on 'next' immediately after the correct answer has been given.
Inactive
This means that this drill always requires clicking on the 'answer' button to submit your answer and then clicking on the 'next' button before the next question is shown.
Active
The 'next' button appears automatically as soon as the user has given the correct answer and can proceed immediately to the next question. When there is no feedback, it will then go automatically to the next question.
Learner decides
At 'settings' the user chooses the setting himself. This is the default setting of Drillster.
Introductions are presented
Introductions are always shown. This shows the correct answer to a question and gives a short description. The user can then see and remember the answer. This only happens when the question is shown for the first time.
Introductions are not presented
Introductions are never shown.
Attention!
Introductions are relevant when a user has never seen the lesson material before. If a user has already taken all the information in, for example a lesson, book or video, introductions can be suppressed. Drillster then immediately starts asking questions.
